# TrustBible

TrustBible (https://trustbible.org) is a Bible question-and-answer web app in English and Simplified
Chinese. Verse text comes word for word from the public-domain King James Version (KJV) and the
Chinese Union Version, simplified (CUV). Reflections are written by AI; the verses never are.

There is no account-based API. Everything below is a public web page or a static file. The static
files are described as OpenAPI at `https://trustbible.org/data/openapi.json` (RFC 9727 catalog:

## Read a chapter

- English (KJV): `https://trustbible.org/en/bible/{book}/{chapter}/`
- Chinese (CUV): `https://trustbible.org/zh-cn/bible/{book}/{chapter}/`
- `{book}` is the lowercase English name with spaces as hyphens: `genesis`, `1-samuel`,
  `song-of-solomon`, `john`, `1-corinthians`, `revelation`. All 66 books: `https://trustbible.org/en/bible/`
- A single verse is the chapter URL plus `#verse-{n}`, e.g. `https://trustbible.org/en/bible/john/3/#verse-16`

Send `Accept: text/markdown` with any page request to get the page as Markdown instead of HTML.

## MCP server (read-only)

`https://trustbible.org/mcp` is a Model Context Protocol server (Streamable HTTP, JSON-RPC over
POST, no key). Tools: `get_passage` (a chapter or verse range, `kjv` or `cuv`), `search_verses`
(verses containing a word or phrase) and `list_books`. Server card:

Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http trustbible https://trustbible.org/mcp`. Claude and
ChatGPT: add the same URL as a custom connector where the client supports remote MCP servers.
Setup for people: https://trustbible.org/en/agents/

## Whole text and datasets

| File | Contents |
| --- | --- |
| `https://trustbible.org/data/kjv.jsonl.gz` | Every KJV verse, one JSON object per line: `book`, `chapter`, `verse`, `text` |
| `https://trustbible.org/data/cuv-simplified.jsonl.gz` | Every CUV (simplified) verse in the same shape |
| `https://trustbible.org/data/chapter-reading-times.csv` (also `.json`) | Words, characters and reading minutes for all 1,189 chapters |
| `https://trustbible.org/data/love-counts.csv` (also `.json`) | Every occurrence of "love" and its forms, with the counting rule |
| `https://trustbible.org/data/fear-not-counts.csv` (also `.json`) | Verses that say "fear not" and related phrases |
| `https://trustbible.org/data/be-still-counts.csv` (also `.json`) | Verses that say "be still" |
| `https://trustbible.org/data/money-verse-counts.csv` (also `.json`) | Verses that use 41 money-related terms |

Each counting article on the blog explains the rule behind its file.

## Topics and articles

- Topic guides (verses, a reflection and a prayer): `https://trustbible.org/en/topics/` and
  `https://trustbible.org/zh-cn/topics/`; one topic is `/en/topics/{topic}/`, e.g. `/en/topics/anxiety/`
- Articles: `https://trustbible.org/blog/`
- Every page: `https://trustbible.org/sitemap.xml`; a summary for language models: `https://trustbible.org/llms.txt`

## Ask TrustBible a question

Answers are written in the browser app, not through an API. To hand a question to a person, link
them to the composer with the question filled in:

- English: `https://trustbible.org/?q={url-encoded question}`
- Chinese: `https://trustbible.org/zh-cn/?q={url-encoded question}`

The person presses Ask to send it. Each answer uses one of their free answers (10 a day) and sends
their words to TrustBible's AI provider, so do not send it for them without asking. In a browser
with WebMCP, the page offers the same two actions as tools: `open_bible_chapter` and
`prefill_bible_question`.

## Limits

- An answer is a study aid, not pastoral, medical, legal or crisis advice. In danger, contact local
emergency services or a crisis line.
- Cite verses with their reference and translation (KJV or CUV), and link the chapter URL.
