Proverbs 13

Short sayings contrast the wise and the foolish, the diligent and the lazy, the righteous and the wicked. Guard your mouth and you guard your life. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. Walk with the wise and you will become wise; a good man leaves an inheritance to his grandchildren; and a father who spares the rod hates his son.
