Titus 1

Paul writes to Titus, whom he left in Crete to set things in order and appoint elders in every town. An elder must be blameless, faithful in marriage, with believing children; not self-willed, quick-tempered or greedy, but hospitable, self-controlled and holding firmly to sound teaching. Many in Crete talk emptily and teach for gain, and they must be silenced: they profess to know God but deny him by their deeds.
