Reflection
Scripture often guides by light for the next step, not by a map for the whole future. calls God's word "a lamp unto my feet." A lamp lights the ground in front of you, which is usually all you need to keep walking.
invites trust "with all thine heart" instead of leaning only on your own understanding. Direction often becomes clearer as you acknowledge God in small, concrete choices.
says you are God's "workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works." Purpose is not something you must invent from scratch or earn by being impressive. It begins with being made and loved by God, and it is lived out in ordinary good works that are already in front of you.
Prayer
Lord, I want to know what my life is for. Show me today's step and make me willing to take it, even if I cannot see the whole road. Keep me from leaning only on my own understanding. Remind me that I am your workmanship, and open my eyes to the good work that is already in front of me. Amen.
