Numbers 13
Moses sends twelve men, one from each tribe, to spy out Canaan, and renames Hoshea son of Nun Joshua. After forty days they return carrying one cluster of grapes on a pole between two men. The land does flow with milk and honey, they report, but its cities are walled and its people giants. Caleb urges them to go up at once; the others say they looked like grasshoppers.
