Judges 14

Samson wants to marry a Philistine woman from Timnah against his parents' wishes; the text says this was from the LORD, seeking an occasion against the Philistines. On the way he tears apart a young lion with his bare hands, and later finds honey in its carcass. At the wedding feast he sets a riddle; his bride, under threat, gets the answer from him and tells her people, and Samson pays the wager by killing thirty men at Ashkelon.
